Covid-19 Update

Max are pleased to confirm that our teams are still fully operational in line with the latest government guidelines. This includes our off-site team at ONS. We do understand, however, that for many businesses and institutions this is unfortunately still not the case. We continue to wish you well during this difficult period and look forward to somewhat easier times, hopefully by Spring 2021.

If you would like to schedule a call for a future date, please complete our contact form indicating a preferred day. We have decided to freeze our prices until May 1st 2021 to ensure that our customers are not penalised by the ongoing restrictions. We may decide to extend this date further still.

In the meantime, please do take a look at our podcasts page . The passion, enthusiasm and insight from our guest speakers has been inspirational, especially given the circumstances.

Archive Software & Services
Max Archive Services

Max now offer a range of archive management and digital preservation software and services:

  • Digital Preservation Software: Max’s secure digital preservation service, SOTERIA, is built on Artefactual’s Archivematica software. It provides standards-based Archival Information Packages (AIPs) for long-term preservation, and Dissemination Information Packages (DIPs) for online access. Digitally preserved content is regularly checked for file format obsolescence, viruses, corruption and accessibility.
  • Archive Management Software: Our bespoke archive management service, DRYAD, is built on Artefactual’s AtoM software. AtoM is a web-based application for standards-based archival description and access. Although AtoM is open source and freely available, the effort and expertise required to make it operational is considerable. To accommodate this, DRYAD offers a complete AtoM solution that includes installation, data migration, hosting, training and ongoing support.
  • Project Management Software for Digitisation: THEMIS is a browser-based, project management platform for digitisation projects. It is fully hosted and managed by Max and ensures that all stages of a digitisation project are successfully managed from within a single system. These stages include cataloguing, conservation, digitisation, indexing, OCR, transcription, QA, and final delivery in multiple file formats.
  • Family Archives: Provides secure, online access to digitised copies of family collections. Typical material includes photographs, letters, diaries, postcards within a structured, searchable database.

More detailed information about all of these services is available on our dedicated Max Archive Services website. For further details about our archive services, please follow the links in this article or contact us on 020 8309 5445 or via our contact page.
