Archive Management Software & Services

Max now offer a range of archive management and digital preservation software and services including Digital Preservation Software, Archive Management Software, Project Management Software for Digitisation and our Family Archives service. For more information please click the link below.

  • Digital Preservation Software: Max's secure digital preservation service, SOTERIA, is built on Artefactual's Archivematica software. It provides standards-based Archival Information Packages (AIPs) for long-term preservation, and Dissemination Information Packages (DIPs) for online access. Digitally preserved content is regularly checked for file format obsolescence, viruses, corruption and accessibility.
  • Archive Management Software: Our bespoke archive management service, DRYAD, is built on Artefactual's AtoM software. AtoM is a web-based application for standards-based archival description and access. Although AtoM is open source and freely available, the effort and expertise required to make it operational is considerable. To accommodate this, DRYAD offers a complete AtoM solution that includes installation, data migration, hosting, training and ongoing support.
  • Project Management Software for Digitisation: THEMIS is a browser-based, project management platform for digitisation projects. It is fully hosted and managed by Max and ensures that all stages of a digitisation project are successfully managed from within a single system. These stages include cataloguing, conservation, digitisation, indexing, OCR, transcription, QA, and final delivery in multiple file formats.
  • Family Archives: Provides secure, online access to digitised copies of family collections. Typical material includes photographs, letters, diaries, postcards within a structured, searchable database.
More detailed information about all of these services is available on our dedicated Max Archive Services website. We're pleased to announce two new case studies featuring two radically different AtoM installations for Scottish Rural College (SRUC) and Explore York Libraries and Archives (EYLA).
