Metadata

Max has developed unique digital tools designed specifically for the extraction and collection of printed, handwritten, and recorded words. One of the key capabilities of our tools is metadata harvesting—the process of interpreting and collecting data contained within documents. This feature is seamlessly integrated into Themis, our web-based digitisation project management tool.

Transcription

We pride ourselves on our vast experience with large-scale transcription projects, having transcribed over ten million records in a single project. The transcription process is expertly handled by Themis. This versatile tool also facilitates distributed, multi-user transcription of handwritten documents, making the process efficient and collaborative.

Optical Character Recognition

At Max, Optical Character Recognition (OCR)—the process of converting imaged text into searchable and editable words—is an integral part of our digitisation workflow. Additionally, we provide the option for a final manual edit, ensuring unmatched levels of accuracy in our transcription projects.

Automatic Speech Recognition

We have taken our digitisation services a step further by incorporating Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) into our pathway. This powerful technology enables us to transcribe over 300 hours of interviews, expanding the potential of our transcription services and ensuring we cater to all our clients' needs.

Testimonials

Max Communications and the RSA Archive have a successful, long standing working relationship. We have undertaken several digitisation projects together to scan our numerous large sized artworks, prints and diagrams. More recently we successfully migrated to Max’s archive management and digital preservation services, DRYAD and SOTERIA. I cannot fault either the consistent quality of the digitisation or the quality of professional service provided and would recommend, Max Communications, without reservation.
